Gold-plated hoops
Gold hoops are among the pieces of jewelry worn most often, so it is worth looking closely at what they are made of. This collection offers three versions.
Three materials
Gold-plated 925 silver. Hinged hoops, the 2 cm Pirate hoop, hoops in teardrop or snake shapes and models with mother-of-pearl or colourful zirconia. Beneath the gold layer is sterling silver. This group also includes the Adriana hoops from Peru and the olive leaf hoops by Mother Nature Jewelry from Greece.
Gold-tone stainless steel. Fine hoops with pearls, crystals, stars or medallions, many of them from France. Robust and uncomplicated.
Gold-plated bronze. The handmade Lucera hoops by the Colombian brand Bamboleira combine gold-plated bronze with palm fibre from the Pacific coast, which makes them very light. From Greece come bronze hoops with a black oxidised surface.
The exact material is on the product page of each pair.
Making the plating last
Take the hoops off before showering, swimming and sport, and apply perfume or hairspray before putting them in. A soft, dry cloth is enough for cleaning. Silver polishing cloths wear away the gold layer.
Prefer silver? Then take a look at the silver hoops.
