«I'm Mohamed, 41 years old, jewelry artisan from Niger. I have been posing and creating jewelry from the Tuareg culture since I was 15 years old. Ever since I was a small child, I always wanted to help my father create these unique pieces of jewellery. But he really wanted me to finish school and graduate. When the time came and I was able, or rather allowed, to help my father, I sat next to him every day and observed exactly what he was doing and how he worked. He explained everything to me about making jewelry and step by step I became a true professional like him. I was finally able to pass these techniques on to my smaller brothers. Since my father is already 75 years old, I took over the workshop with my brothers, uncles and other acquaintances, women and men, and it gives me great pleasure every day to grind silver, ebony and other materials with my 8-strong team. to be able to polish, process and create a unique piece of jewellery.»
